Champagne
du Mont Hauban from Champers Limited
Champagne
du Mont Hauban is Champers’ principal champage
and comes from Monthélon, 3 miles south of Epernay in
the heart of the French champagne country. The village nestles
among undulating hills which for 300 years have nurtured the
vines of the traditional champagne grape varieties of pinot
noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay. The soil and the temperate
climate are well suited to the production of these grapes,
which make wine of depth and subtlety. The Champagnes Du Mont
Hauban are expertly made in the village for over 30 of its
growers who between them own over 240 acres of vines. Their
grapes are also used by major houses such as Moet et Chandon
and Laurent Perrier
The winery is fitted out with modern equipment and
is able to make high quality wine by combining modern
technology with traditional skills. |
